Jan Blachowicz believes he will eliminate Glover Teixeira in the second or third round of their UFC light heavyweight title fight at UFC 267.
During an appearance on MMA time with Ariel Helwani, the UFC light heavyweight champion spoke about his upcoming title defense against Brazilian MMA veteran Glover Teixeira. Asked by Helwani about his prediction regarding the fight, Blachowicz said:
âKO in the 2nd or 3rd round. I’m going to be ‘And again’ … we’re going to hear, ‘And again.’ “
At the moment, Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira are on a five-game winning streak. Blachowicz’s most recent fight was a champion-versus-champion superfight against UFC middleweight title holder Israel Adesanya. ‘The Last Stylebender’ moved up to the 205-pound division to take on Blachowicz at UFC 259 in March this year.
The fight saw Jan Blachowicz take on the then undefeated Israel Adesanya in his first title defense. Many viewed the Nigerian-Kiwi as the favorite ahead of their fight.
Nonetheless, Blachowicz made a massive statement by becoming the first fighter to defeat Adesanya in mixed martial arts. The Polish fighter defeated “The Last Stylebender” by unanimous decision and successfully defended his 205-pound belt.
Meanwhile, Glover Teixeira’s most recent fight was a third round submission victory over Thiago Santos in UFC on ESPN: Santos vs. Teixeira in November 2020. UFC 267’s fight against Jan Blachowicz will be Teixeira’s second shot for the UFC light heavyweight title. He had previously challenged Jon Jones for the title at UFC 172 in 2014, but lost by unanimous decision.

Jiri Prochazka could be the X-factor in Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira UFC 267 title game
Defending champion Jan Blachowicz and challenger Glover Teixeira appear injury-free and ready to compete on fight night. However, the UFC has hired Czech MMA star Jiri Prochazka as a backup fighter for the title fight at UFC 267.
If Jan Blachowicz or Glover Teixeira withdraw from the fight due to injury or other issues, Jiri Prochazka could step in and participate in the main event match. Blachowicz’s title fight against Teixeira will headline a stacked UFC 267 card on October 30.
