Joanna Jedrzejczyk has reacted to the news that Dana White has confirmed the winner of her fight against Weili Zhang will receive a title shot.

Despite being sidelined from the sport of mixed martial arts for two years, Joanna Jedrzejczyk hasn’t taken her eyes off the prize. The Polish sensation was last seen just before the pandemic hit in an all-out war with Weili Zhang, with many believing she did enough to win that fight – although she ultimately lost it on the Dashboards.

Now, at UFC 275, she will have the chance to avenge that loss when she meets Zhang in a three-round affair in Singapore.

UFC President Dana White recently revealed that the winner of the fight will get a chance against current champion Carla Esparza in her next outing. It turns out that Jedrzejczyk was already well aware of this stipulation.

“I knew it,” Jedrzejczyk said. “I would not sign [a bout] OK for this fight if I didn’t know I was going to be next after I won. So yes, I knew it. I’m not surprised. It’s good. I feel like we both deserve it.

“I’m ready for anything and everything,” Jedrzejczyk said. “I’m in the best shape ever, and I know Weili Zhang is too.”

Given that former champion Rose Namajunas hasn’t exactly put together a classic with Esparza, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that White is going that route.

Both Jedrzejczyk and Zhang are going to come out and put on a show and even if they come back to decide, we imagine it will be a battle until the judges announce their scores.

Do you think the winner of Joanna Jedrzejczyk against Weili Zhang should have a shot at the title?
